Duane F. Bragg, 83, of Sullivan, died 11:30 a.m. Monday (June 2, 2008) in his residence.

Mr. Bragg was born on June 17, 1924 in Gays, Illinois, the son of Orval and Gladys Gilbreath Bragg.

Duane retired from Blaw-Knox in Mattoon after 30 years, was a member of the U.A.W. 916 in Mattoon, the Sullivan First Baptist Church, the Sullivan American Legion Post 68, the Sullivan V.F.W. and was a WWII Army veteran.

He married Doris M. Summers on July 13, 1957 in Sullivan and she preceded him in death on February 23, 1995.

He later married Joyce McGhee on October 27, 1996 in Sullivan and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2007.

Survivors include his son, Roger (Jill) Bragg, granddaughters, Hillary Bragg and Allison Bragg, brother, Don Bragg, sisters, Jane Ledbetter and Ruth Stone.

He was alsopreceded in death by his parents and one brother, Earl Bragg.

Duane was a lifelong Cubs Fan. He loved gardening, working in his yard and being outdoors. His greatest enjoyment came from watching his granddaughters play sports. Duane will be greatly missed by his family.
