Deceased Name: Merlin L. Larsen MANTUA - Merlin Lee Larsen, 85, passed away Monday, August 25, 2003 at a Health Care facility in Pocatello, Idaho after an extended illness.

He was born May 3, 1918 in Mantua, Utah to Lars Larsen and Olga Linbo Larsen.

He married Trena Christensen on July 26, 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple, Logan, Utah.

Merlin went to school in Box Elder School District. He worked for the United States Government at the Ogden Defense Depot in Ogden, Utah. Merlin worked as a custodian with the Box Elder School District for several years. He served in many civic positions including Mantua Town Board.

Merlin was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings in the ward and stake. He was very active in temple work for many years. Merlin served as a visitor center missionary at the Tabernacle in Brigham City, Utah for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife Trena Christensen Larsen, his son Lee Randall (Kathryn) Larsen, his five grandchildren, Amy Kathryn Larsen, Emilee Jane (Jayson) Corpus, Jared Lee Larsen, Eric Randall Larsen, Ryan Corbett Larsen and four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Cameron and Mikaela Corpus and Logan Larsen all of Pocatello, Idaho and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mantua 1st Ward Chapel, 237 South Willard Peak Rd., Mantua, Utah with Bishop Kent Jeppsen officiating.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Friday from 12:00 to 12:40 p.m. at the Church.

Interment will follow at the Mantua Cemetery.
