Former North Olympic Peninsula resident Wallace E. Adams of Kent died in Federal Way of age-related causes. He was 88.

He was born in Wilmar, Minn., to Milton Frank and Emma (Magnuson) Adams.

From October 1942, through November 1945, he served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Adams married Luanna Mary "Sally" Hansen in Port Angeles on Aug. 25, 1946.

He was a truck driver for American Wholesale Penn Truck in Port Angeles.

Mr. Adams belonged to Teamsters, Eagles and the American Legion.

His wife died in 1991, and he moved from the Port Angeles area in 2003.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Dave Mitchell of Kent, and Mary and Jim Bennum of Auburn; sons-in-law Tom Brown of Clinton and Preston Kinney of Centralia; brother and sister-in-law Donald and Mary Adams of Wisconsin; sister Nancy O'Niel of Port Angles; sister-in-law June Adams of Minnesota; plus 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughters Nancy Brown and Cindy Kinney; brothers Earl Adams and Leonard Adams; sister Alice Benoff; brother-in-law Jack O'Niel; and one grandchild.

Services: Monday, June 16, 1 p.m., graveside committal in Mount Angeles Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 101 and Monroe Road, Port Angeles. Darrel Sharp will officiate with honors by the Navy.

Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.
