David C. Vaught Jr., age 77, of Henderson, NE, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at York, NE. He was born February 7, 1931 at Genoa, NE to David C. and Bertha (Miller) Vaught Sr. He was united in marriage to Beverly Ohnesorge on August 28, 1952 at Strang, NE. David was a bookkeeper in the Henderson area, and worked for Cropland, Western PV and Central Irrigation. He enjoyed camping, and in his travels he always made many friends. He also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Beverly of Henderson; children: David K. Vaught, his wife Virginia, and his children Justin, Andrea, Amber and Jordan of Meridian, ID; Michael Vaught of Beatrice, NE; Nancy Friesen, her husband Curt, and their children Shannon, Kori, Tiffany and Neal of Henderson; Rick Vaught, his wife Cheryl and their daughter Chelsea of Henderson; Bradley Vaught, his wife Audrey, and their children Jeremy, Whitney, and Jake of Aurora, NE; Kevin Vaught, his wife Kimberly and their children Blake and Chase of Aurora; and Todd Vaught, his wife Chris and their children Kaecee, Shayne and Rece of Aurora. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Vaught and his wife Elaine of Bradshaw, NE; three sisters, Jean Adams of Benedict, NE, Betty Sylvester of Columbus, NE and Stella Fisher of Fullerton, NE; daughter-in-law Luann Vaught of Sioux City, IA. David also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant brother James.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson with the Reverend Weldon Martens officiating. Burial followed at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Bruning, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family.
