Scott Allridge Shumway, 47, passed away on June 10, 2008 at the American Fork Hospital in American Fork, Utah. He resided at 9659 North 6800 West in Highland, Utah at the time of his death.

He was born March 7, 1961 in American Fork, the son of Norman Earl and Norma Allridge Shumway. He married his sweetheart Jody Lynn Cook on April 19, 1985 in Highland, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple on May 16, 1987. They are the parents of four children - three sons; Jason, Jordan and James, and one daughter Jana. Scott grew up in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School. He loved playing basketball and baseball and was MVP in 1979 when his team took state. He received Awards of Merit for his scholastic and athletic abilities. He coached many baseball teams in Little League and Rocky Mountain Baseball and was loved and respected by everyone. He was patient with children and was sensitive about their feelings, especially his children, nieces and nephews. He held numerous positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, mostly as a Sunday School teacher and loved teaching the youth. The Shumway home was filled with numerous extra kids that loved to be around. He worked as a large machine mechanic and was employed by Utah Refractories.

He is survived by his loving wife Jody, who will miss him along with his children, Jason, Jordan, James and Jana; his mother, Norma Shumway, American Fork, UT; brothers, Larry (Jeri) Shumway, Logan, UT; Mike (Janet) Shumway, American Fork, UT; sisters, Janice (Larry) Davenport, Lynette (Ken) Barrington, American Fork; parents-in-law, Lynn and JuleAnne Cook, Highland, UT; Jody's siblings, Bruce (Taunya) Cook, Brian (Tori) Cook Highland, UT; Brent Cook, Springville, UT; Jenica (Jon) Hafen, Jeana (Clint) Fackrell, Lehi, UT; Gary (Ann) Nez, Riverton, WY; 50 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Norman E. Shumway.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland South Stake Center, 6800 West 9800 North, Highland, Utah. Family and Friends may call Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main Street, Lehi, from 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the Stake Center from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Interment: American Fork City Cemetery.
