Age 59, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014. She was born on January 13, 1955 in St. Johns, Michigan, the daughter of Leo and Laurina (Thelen) Simon. Karen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westphalia, and loved being with people.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Kathleen Simon; brother-in-law, Ronald Rademacher. Surviving are her sisters, Alice (Bob) Pline, MaryAnn (Paul) Esch, Elizabeth (Julius) Schafer, Rosaline (Darryl) Schmitz, and Susan (Anthony) Pescatore; brothers, Edward (Kay) Simon, Bernard (Carol) Simon, William (Kathleen) Simon, and Mark (Beth) Simon; many nieces and nephews; her dog, "Mini".

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia, with Rev. Eric Weber presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. Rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday, and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Hazel Findlay Recreation Center, or to the Special Olympics, in memory of Karen.
