James Early Fisher, age 78, died Saturday, July 6 at Shearer Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 7 at Abrams Funeral Home Chapel in Okolona. Burial was in Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona with the Rev. David Greer officiating.

The son of the late James Asberry and the late Martha Ell Ferguson, he was founder of Fisher Hardware in Okolona in 1944. He was born in Calhoun County and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Okolona.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth McLaughlin Fisher of Okolona; one daughter, Mrs. Glenda Morgan of Memphis, Tennessee; two sons, Harvey Fisher of Okolona and Jimmy Fisher of Corinth; one half sister, Mrs. Etoyle Reams of Memphis, Tennessee; one half brother, Rev. F O Martin of Batesville; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Robert G Morgan, II, Walton Morgan, James L Fisher, William Blain Fisher, Fred D Fisher, Robert Scholtes, T O Cruse and Billy H Harris.

Abrams Funeral Home of Okolona was in charge of arrangements.
