Stephen R. Joseph, 53, of Attleboro, died on Monday. Husband of Nancy G. (Elson) Joseph. Born in Weymouth, he was a son of Joyce M. (Nieforth) Joseph of Rockland and the late Robert Joseph. He was a 1973 graduate of Norwell High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bridgewater State College in 1978. Mr. Joseph was employed by Shaws Supermarkets, Inc. for a total of 28 years having worked throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island and for the past year was the grocery manager for the North Attleboro store located in Attleboro Falls. Mr. Joseph was an active member of the Masonic Order, having been a member of the Old Colony A.F. & A.M. in Hingham and Ezekiel Bates Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Attleboro. Mr. Joseph was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Hope Chapter #41 in Attleboro and was affiliated with the Rexhame Chapter in Marshfield and the Rose Croix Chapter #79 in Taunton. He was an active advisor for the Rainbow Assembly #13 in Taunton and was a longtime member, volunteer and Chapter Dad for the Order of DeMolay chapters in Taunton and Hingham. Last year the Order of the DeMolay bestowed him with the organizations highest honor, The Legion of Honor. In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves a daughter: Heather L. Joseph of Raymond, New Hampshire; two stepdaughters: Melissa L. Johnson of Attleboro and Amy E. Parker of Taunton; Amanda Smith of Wareham, whom he loved as a daughter; one grandchild: Lenya M. Joseph of Attleboro; a step grandson: Tyler Parker of Taunton and was expecting the arrival of his second step grandchild this week; his brother: Wayne E. Joseph of Plymouth and several extended family members, friends and colleagues. He was the father of the late Benjamin D. Joseph who died in 1996 at the age of almost 10. Visitation on Thursday from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, funeral home mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A ritual service conducted by the Masonic Order will be performed at 7:00 PM during visitation. Funeral Service on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the All Saints Anglican Church, 1188 South Main Street Route 152, Attleboro. Burial will follow in Stephens Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth.
