MENNETT – Roy Charles, 93, Mineral Point, died May 27, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 22, 1915, in Johnstown, son of the late William Henry and Laura Sarah (Federicy) Mennett. Preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite C. (Robak); sisters, Julia McNally and Dorothy Elgin; and brothers, Walter and Russell. Survived by son, Roy William, married to the former Audrey D. (Cramer), Mineral Point; grandchildren: Kevin Charles, West Virginia; Kimberly Lynn Hicks (Jamie), Pittsburgh; and Cory Michael Mennett (Deanna), Johnstown; and great-grandchildren: Skyler Hicks and Brayden and MaKenna Mennett. Also companion, Dolores Swintosky, and nephew, Bill McNally. He was a graduate of the former Dale High School. He was employed as a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel. He was a World War II Army veteran having served in the 35th Division and was injured in the Battle of the Bulge. Roy will be missed by both his and the Swintosky families. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Geisel Funeral Home, 734 Bedford St., where funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Geisel-Devlin Memorial Chapel, Pastor Pennie Adams. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the VA Hospital. Published in the Johnstown Tribune Democrat from 5/27/2008 - 5/29/2008.
