Actor. He was best known to British television viewers for his role as Don Brennan on the popular television soap opera "Coronation Street" from 1987 to 1997. He performed in various theatrical productions in his teenage years before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He made his acting debut on the television mini-series "The Spread of the Eagle" in 1963. Besides "Coronation Street," he went on to appear in numerous television series during his career such as "Crown Court," "Z Cars," "Couples," "Striker," "Doctor Who," "Brass," and "Doctors." In 1973, he made his film debut in "O Lucky Man!." His later film credits would include such titles as "The Shadow Line," "A Bridge Too Far," and "The Battle of Billy's Pond."
