Mary Cecilia Days, 95, passed away July 4, 2000, in Brewster. Mary lived in Twisp for 69 years.
Mary was born in Hood River, OR on Sept. 7, 1904, to Katriina (Lehkonen) Adams and Adam (Pylkkanen) Adams.
The family soon relocated to Hoquiam where Mary was raised on the family homestead. Mary married Ernest Days on June 7, 1925. Mary and Ernie made their home at Old Blewett on Blewett Pass until moving to Twisp in 1931. Mary and Ernie raised three children in the Methow Valley. The family moved several times before settling into the house on Days Lane in Twisp in 1945. Ernie passed away in 1970. Mary remained in the family home.
Mary was rewarded with 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed creek fishing and gardening, especially her flowers.
Mary is survived by her brother, Charley Adams of Redlands, CA; daughter, Lola Oglesbee of Twisp; son, Danny Days of Twisp; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary enjoyed a very special and loving relationship with caregiver, Sharon Smith of Brewster for the last four years at Rose's Place.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ernie, her son Roy Days, two granddaughters, three sisters and one brother.
Graveside services will be held at the Beaver Creek Cemetery on Thursday, July 13, 2000, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 12, 2000, from 1-4 p.m. at the Precht's Methow Valley Chapel in Twisp.
Arrangements are by Precht Methow Valley Chapel.
