Max lived in Basehor his whole life. Mr. Scheller hauled hogs, cattle and grain for farmers in the Basehor area from 1918 to 1930. He farmed until his retirement in 1967, and from 1944 to 1967, he farmed in partnership with his son, Edward M. Scheller, Basehor.
He was a 50-year member of the Delaware Masonic Lodge, Kansas City, Kan., and a member of the Basehor United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his son include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Knight Scheller, of the home; a brother, Walter Scheller, Tonganoxie; three sisters, Mrs. Etta Oelschlaeger, Bonner Springs, Mrs. Clara Norris, Leavenworth, and Mrs. Ruth Yates, Lawrence; two grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.
