Italian Football Player. He played for Inter Milan and Juventus Turin; he won the UEFA Cup once with both teams, in 1990 with Juventus and in 1994 with Inter Milan. As Italy's World Cup hero, he rose to prominence at the 1990 World Cup in his home country of Italy. Here, he was the top scorer with 6 goals and won the Golden Ball as Best Player. He played for Jbilo Iwata in the Japanese J. League and became Japanese champion in 1997. In September 2024, he passed away in a hospital in the Sicilian capital of Palermo from the effects of cancer.
