Sarah E. Basim, wife of Russell Basim, died at her home on Hurricane creek, March 1, 1902.

Mrs. Basim was born in Washington County, Ohio, June 15, 1835, being 67 years, 8 months, and 15 days old at the time of her death. She and her devoted husband were married in 1856. In 1867 they moved to Macon county Missouri, and in 1880 they came to Oregon where they have since lived. Mrs. Basim became a member of the Methodist church early in life. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, two sons and two daughters.

After an illness of many months, Sarah E. Basim, wife of Russell Basim, died at her home on Hurricane creek, march 1, 1902.

She was born in Washington county, Ohio, June 15, 1834, and was married to Russell Basim, March 22, 1855. In 1863 they moved to Macon county, Missouri, where they lived until 1880, when they moved to Wallowa county, Oregon, where they have since lived.

Deceased was the mother of six children, two [actually four] daughters and two sons, five of whom survive here. Early in life she united with the Methodist Episcopa church, and although for years an invalid, has left a legeacy to her family and friends, of patience, faith and love.
