Jean Revay Holman, 88 of Springfield, passed away on September 28, 2009 in St. John's Hospital. She was born on August 7, 1921 in Wheatland, Mo.

Jean graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1941. She was employed with Baptist Hospital and Cox Hospital for 20 years until her retirement and volunteered at Mercy Villa. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She married Carl Raymond Holman on May 9, 1948 in Walnut Grove, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Holman; her parents, Curtis and Athal Ihrig; and her only brother, Herald Ihrig. She is survived by her children, Barbara and husband Ray Sappington, Ray Dean and Patty Holman, Marilyn Burdette; five grandchildren, Allen and Angel Holman, Scott Holman, Laura Koster, Jeremy Moses and Jason and Jessica Moses; great-grandchildren, Brittany Koster, Haden Holman, Kami Holman and Brooklyn Moses; nieces and nephews, Diana Swart and Fred Ihrig; cousins, Maxine Bryant and Don Ihrig; Judy Daughtery, the mother of her two grandchildren, Allen and Scott; sister-in-law, Anna Holman.

Funeral services will be held on October 2, 2009 at 10 a.m. on South Campbell Ave. Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Aldrich, Mo. Visitation will be held on October 1, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. The family suggests memorial donations be made to South Campbell Ave. Baptist Church, 935 S. Campbell, Springfield, Mo.
