Mrs. Alma E. (Braden) Ellison, age 90 of Winnsboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at her home. Alma was born in Hopkins County on April 11, 1924 to the late Paul and Bessie (Stracener) Braden. She served honorably in the U.S. Marines during World War II, was a retired beautician, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro. She was also a member of the American Legion and the Hopkins County Marine Corp. League. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mr. Joseph "Joe" Ellison; brothers, Reginald, Wib, Travis, Avon and Ken Braden; sisters, Mary Ruth Smith, Auddie Walley and Lorene Nolen; son-in-law, Gerald Roebuck; and grandsons, Richard Loller and Casey Jones. She is survived by a son, Steve Ellison of Deer Park; daughters, Nan Roebuck of Winnsboro, Lesa Nichols and husband David of Winnsboro; brother, Marshall Braden and wife Joyce of Patterson; special niece, Vicki Sanders of McKinney; sixteen grandchildren, Melissa and Scott Henry, Melanie and Troy Hemmingsen, Greg Roebuck, Cody Ellison, Shannon and Jakob Parton, Caitlin and Zack Branham, Molly, Audrey and Abi Nichols, Latrisha Jones, Ashley and Brett Sanders; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew Henry, Josie White, Sadie and Kennedy Jones, Emma Allen, Braxyn Parton, Zoe Roebuck, Adalyn Ellison.
