World War I Officer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a member of the prominent Pogue family. During World War I, he was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army and died from influenza while at Washington, D.C. in 1918 when he was 37 years old. His death came one month after the Armistice was signed that declared that the war was over. He was the son of Samuel and Fannie Pogue.
