July 5, 1941, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Marie Sorenson at Mankato. Six children were born to this marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Darrell Ray. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Harlan Ray, Clay Center, Kan., and James Ray, Sioux City, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Monty Splitter (Bonnie) of Kearney, Mrs. Lee Petersen (Joan) of Nelson, Mrs. Steve Radcliff (Barbara) of Lincoln and Mrs. Norbert Wenger (Deborah), Topeka; brother, Bryce Ray, Superior; 11 grandchildren; and other relatives. Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 3, at the United Methodist Church, Nelson, with Rev. Fred Richart officiating. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery. The Hacker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
