Christine E. Xinos WINDSOR - Christine Emily Xinos, 80, passed away peacefully April 9, 2008, in Sentara Obici Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Xinos was born April 25, 1927, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Goodwin in Scotland County, North Carolina. She retired from the Norfolk Port Authority. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are seven children: Linda Crow of Chesapeake, James Smith Jr. of Suffolk, Allen Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla., Peter Xinos of Franklin, Margo Elswick of Windsor, Cynthia Hammerbeck of Jacksonville, Fla., Steven Xinos of Sedley, Va.; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Xinos, two brothers and one sister. A celebration of life will be held Saturday at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with a visitation to be held one hour prior. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
