Services for Elizabeth Florida McCartney will be held Thursday, May 17, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Rigo Cortez. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Wellman Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 16, 2001 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. McCartney, 97, passed away at Christus Schumpert Medical Center. She was born in Mansfield, LA and had been a resident of the Shreveport area for most of her life. She was a LPN and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mrs. McCartney loved dancing, crocheting and sewing.

Mrs. McCartney was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Desoto and second husband, Arthur McCartney.

She is survived by one niece, Ruby Lewis and husband, Porter of Keithville, LA; two half-sisters, Amy Gour of Shreveport, LA and Celeste Prudhomme of Mansfield, LA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Lewis, Bobby Laffitte, Jamie Laffitte, Jean Laffitte, Isaac Van Laffitte and Eric Lewis.
