Paris News-August 10, 1994-Iva Banks, 87, of Cooper died Tuesday, August 9, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center. Services will be held at 2pm Thursday, August 1, in Delta Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carter Lyles and J.D. Lancaster officiating. Burial will be n Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs Banks was born May 3, 1907 in Delta County, a daughter of James Brackeen and Laura (Shannon) Brackeen. She married Elisha Banks in 1923. He died December 25, 1964. Surviving are two sons, Ray Banks of Cooper and Jerry Banks of Dallas; four daughters, Frances Thompson of Paris, Louise Smith of Arlington, Jo Rita Powell of Houston and Nina Lewis of Arlington; one sister, Ethel Balentine of Decatur; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Officer Terry Lewis in 1992.
