DIED: PERSONS:- In Ruby Valley, Nevada, August 21, 1889, Mercy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Persons, aged 6 years and 5 days.

OBITUARY: We regret to learn of the sudden death of little Mercy Persons who was called away August 21 after a very short illness. The little one was complaining on Sunday, but was not considered dangerously ill until Monday night about 12 o'clock, and from that time she suffered until near three o'clock Tuesday evening when her pure, unsullied spirit took flight to its Maker.
Mr. Persons had gone for Dr. Petty but ere he reached home he was met by a messenger with the sad news that he was too late.
The remains were taken to Clover Valley where the heart broken parents and loving brother and sister saw their darling lowered from their sight forever.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to them in this hour of trouble and may they strive to lead a life that will enable them to meet their loved one in the home where sorrow and care are unknown.-MDP-[Published in the "Daily Independent," Elko, Nevada, Thursday, September 12th, 1889, MDP, Page 2.].Contributor: Mark Persons (47050163)
