Bonnie Dale Stritzel, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001 at Wenatchee following an extended illness.

She was born June 13, 1915 to Lloyd C. and Leona E. (Terrell) Bartlett at Startup. She was the granddaughter of the Mayor of Everett, Atlantic City and Index. Her father had a ranch and operated a store in Startup. Her grandparents had been in Washington State since 1887. They had come out West on a wagon train. Bonnie was also a descendent of numerous early American patriots, one being a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Bonnie graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1932.

She married George Stritzel, son of Max and Lena Stritzel. They were orchardists and early fruit truckers who had been in Wenatchee since 1908. Bonnie worked as a caregiver with her mother-in-law, who established one of the first personal care homes in Wenatchee. She packed fruit and sold Stanley Home Products, Fratex and Avon. She and her husband, George, operated a general store in Ravalli, MT while they continued their orchard in Wenatchee.

Bonnie loved her family. She enjoyed tennis, swimming, books, poetry, dogs, birds, flowers, antiques and loved her bees as she was a beekeeper. She was known for her strength, courage, intelligence, practicality, bright eyes, dimples and sunny temperament. If she could, she would give jobs to those who needed them. She was very involved with local cancer groups.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Robert David Stritzel, Wenatchee, Sally Dale Stewart and her husband, John, Wenatchee, Jeau Anne Stephens and her husband, Ron of Ridgefield and Molly Maxine Iverson and her husband, Doug of Montesano; two sisters, Margaret Ann Servias, Mesa, AZ and Mary Jane Sterley of Chewelah; her grandchildren, David Wright, Seattle, Cristyn Lane, Wenatchee and Barry and Erik Iverson of Montesano; the great-grandchildren, Drusella, Sebastian, Basil, Minerva and Rex Lane of Wenatchee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1993 and one brother, Galen L. Bartlett.

A private Memorial Service will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, Friday, Feb. 16, 2001 at 3 p.m. The service will conclude in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church Cancer Care Group.

Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
