Brenda L. Schneider, 39, of Dubuque, formerly of Holy Cross, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, following a sudden illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 9, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, with the Rev. Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Kramer Funeral Home, Holy Cross, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

She was born on July 22, 1968, in Dubuque, daughter of Merlin and Darlene (Moriarity) Schneider. She attended school in Dyersville, Farley and Dubuque. She moved to Dubuque when she was about 16 years old.

Brenda was employed by Area Residential Care, mainly at their vocational service center on Kerper Boulevard.

She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters Court 881.

Brenda enjoyed making coffee at work, going to McDonald's and boot scoot dancing at the fairgrounds.

Surviving are her mother, Darlene, of Holy Cross; three sisters, Starla (Jeff Ebens) Schneider, of Port Washington, Wis., Lisa (Dave) Filip, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Shelley (Don) Chapman, of Hopkinton, Iowa; a brother, Bret (Pam) Schneider, of Holy Cross; nieces and nephews, Mat and Dillon Chapman, Leah, Carissa and Jared Schneider, and Colby, Tanner and Kara Filip; aunts and uncles, Verna Mae (Merlin) Maiers, of Madison, Wis., Ed (Kay) Moriarity, Evelyn Knockel and Helen Moriarity, all of Cascade, Iowa, and Shirley (Paul) Oberfoell, of Sherrill, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Merlin in 1996; her grandparents, Ed and Marie Schneider, and John and Viola Moriarity; three uncles, John, Jim and Leo Moriarity; and an aunt, Betty Kennicker.
