OBITUARIES (Glendora newspaper clipping)
Daniel Aaron Barker, was born November 19, 1827. Died October 22, 1902. He was born in Gallipolis, Gallia County, Ohio. At the age of 18 he moved with his parents to Iowa. When 24 years of age he married Eva Baysinger, making Indianola his home until 1859, when he went as a pioneer to Colorado, where he resided until April, 1887, when the family moved to California, which has since been their home. He leaves a wife and one son, C.D. Barker of Glendora, and four daughters, Mrs. S.M. Burns Mrs. C. C. Miles, Mrs. F.C. Casey and Miss H.A. Barker to mourn his loss.
The funeral occurred last Friday morning, Rev. Norcross officiating, interment was in Oakdale cemetery. A large concourse of relatives and friends followed the remains to their resting place, as a last mute testimony of their love and respect.
"We shall meet, but we shall miss him; There will be one vacant chair; We shall linger to caress him, When we breathe our evening prayer." There is no death! The stars go down to rise upon some other shore, And bright in heaven's jeweled crown they shine forever more."

Died: D.A. Barker, aged 75 yrs, at his home in Glendora, of pneumonia. Sick only three days. Mr. Barker has been a resident of Glendora and vicinity about 15 years and was an exemplary citizen. His family will have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
