Mrs. Matt Hein, Sr., 85, who had resided 18 months with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mecca of 2759 S. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Monday evening at the home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. James
DeWitt will officiate and burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Rt. 3, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Hein, nee Odelia C. Trost, was born Jan. 12, 1884 at Silver Lake, daughter of the late Joseph and Augusta Leverence Trost. She was married to Matt Hein Sr., June 27, 1903 and the couple farmed in Manitowoc County before moving to Manitowoc. Mr. Hein died June 12, 1947. Mrs. Hein was a member of St. Theresa
Society of St. Andrew Parish.
Surviving are eight sons, Nick, Clarence, Matt Jr., Anton, Joseph, Fred and Marshall of Manitowoc and Walter of Cato; four daughters, Mrs. George (Margaret) Popp of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, Mrs. Alois (Irene) Gadzinski and Mrs. Alfred (Mary Jane) Mecca of Manitowoc, and Mrs. Stanley (Katherine) Sieracki of Rt. 3, Manitowoc;
a sister, Mrs. Elsie Hein of Cato; 49 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. Four sons, three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home where a wake service will be conducted at 7:30 o'clock this Tuesday evening.
