Tom Mark Claunch, 59, a retired U.S. Postal employee, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 in Weatherford.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday in White's Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in Peaster Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Tom Claunch was born in Weatherford, February 7, 1949 the son of Conway and Winnie Greene Claunch. He was a lifetime resident of Parker County and had resided in Peaster since 1973. Graduate of Weatherford High School Texas 1967. Tom was also a lifetime member of Couts United Methodist Church. He was an English Instructor at Weatherford and Tarrant County Colleges. Tom loved to farm, and especially enjoyed reading and doing fun things with his grandchildren. One of his favorite hobbies was his 1950 Chevrolet Pickup Truck, lovingly known as "Old Rusty". Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Diane Sue Whitner; and brother, James Claunch.
Survivors include his wife, Sue of Peaster; son, Duane Claunch of Peaster ; daughter, Shirley Anderson and husband, Robert of Weatherford; grandchildren, Amber and Clayton Anderson; brothers, John Claunch and wife, Lucille, Perry Claunch; sister, Mary Jo Wimberley; and a host of loving family and friends.
