He died on July 1, 1899, and is buried close to his parents' graves at Long Point Cemetery.
Niantic
James Edward, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hawk, died July 1, aged 25 years. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at Long Point by Elder A. L. Gepford. He leaves to mourn his loss a father and a mother, two sisters and two brothers. A spell of sickness in infancy caused the loss of his mental faculties, and he could neither speak nor realize anything. He has been a constant care to his faithful parents, who never let aught prevent the most earnest watchfulness. They have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
