Mr. Decker was born March 15, 1942, in Baltimore to the late James T. and Teresa M. Decker Sr.
He served in the Navy as a signalman on the USS Duncan. He was decorated with a Vietnam Service Medal and a First Conduct Medal Award.
He was employed for over 20 years with Amtrak.
Mr. Decker was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 160 and the American Legion 276.
He enjoyed playing and watching golf, as well as spending time with his German shepherd.
Survivors include two brothers, James Decker Jr. of Baltimore City and Richard Decker of Glen Burnie; and three sisters, JoAnne Engel of Glen Burnie, Cheryl Barker of North Carolina and Helen Miller of Arnold.
