Harvey William "H. W." Everest was an ordained minister for the Disciples of Christ. He was an educator who served as the President of Eureka College and of Butler University, and as the Chancellor of Garfield University.

Harvey was 3rd Principal (Pro Tem) of Western Reserver Eclectic Institute (later named Hiram College); successor to James A. Garfield, who served 1857-1861 and later became 20th President of the United States
