Mr. Nix passed away on Monday, April 2, 2001 after a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Mansfield, LA the last 15 years. Mr. Nix was an industrial contractor. He loved horse racing, Nascar, the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby Nix; four daughters, Cindy Wardell and husband, Jon of McKinney, TX, Susan Storment and husband, Robert of Stonewall, LA, Sandra Nix of Mansfield, LA and Tammy Rachal and husband, James of Atlanta, GA; one son, Jerry Nix and fiancee, Jessica Douglas of Minden, LA; one sister, Judy Thompson and husband, Wayne of Nashville, TN; one step-sister, Dara Bowers and husband, Leon of Ooltewah, TN; one brother, Charles Nix and wife Sara of Chimauga, GA; step-mother, Mildred Nix of Ooltewah, TN; four grandchildren, Haley, Justin and Jake Rachal, and Matthew Storment.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
