Joseph R. Bisson, 83, of Sanford passed away on Saturday January 7, 2006 at H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Sanford on May 4, 1922 a son of Arthur and Edwidge ( Letourneau) Bisson. He attended local catholic schools.

He served in the US Army during WWII participating in the following battles, Kasserine Pass, Mateur, Gasfa, El Guettar and the Invasion of Sicily. He retired from Pease Air Force Base with over 30 years of servcie as a Heavy Machinery Mechanic. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Ignatius Chruch and a member of the Sanford VFW. He enjoyed playing pinochle and his summers at his Shaker pond camp in Alred.

He is predeceased by the love of his life of 52 years, Lorina Bisson who passed away in 2000.

He is survived by his children, Rene Bisson of Yorktown, VA, Mrs. Clifford (Rita) Marrier of Port St. John, FL, Mrs. David (Rachel) Lessard of Waterboro, Rudy Bisson of Melbourne, FL, Mrs. Ralf (Ann Marie) Lund of Cape Cod, MA, Mrs. Mark (Irene) Craft of Sanford, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 & 6-8pm Monday, January 9 at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tueaday at 9am at St. Ignatius church.

Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery in the spring.
