Odis Lee Barlow was the first child of Ance McLaurin Barlow and Lela Cleo McWilliams Barlow. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on a submarine. He was injured when his submarine was attacked and taken to a hospital in the Phillipines. His family had no word of him for six months before the Red Cross finally notified them that he was alive. He returned home, married, and had one son. He owned a Ford dealership in Taylorsville for many years and owned a farm. He retired and moved to Pass Christian, MS, where he enjoyed shrimp fishing. He later moved to Pearl, MS. He was a respected man and loved by his family.
