Tripoli, Ia. - Mrs. Clara Claus, 73, Tuesday night in the Iowa City hospital; had undergone surgery there a month ago; born Feb. 21, 1875, in Old Tripoli; spent her life in this community; married to John C. Claus June 6, 1895; member of St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church and a charter member of the American Legion auxiliary; preceded by husband, June 6, 1914; leaves three sons and one daughter. Dr. Everett C. Claus, Ft. Logan, Colo.; Arthur Claus, in California; Herbert Claus, 219 Newell street, Waterloo; Mrs. E. F. Scheppele, 426 Gable street, Waterloo; four sisters, Mrs. C. B. Kelsey, Tripoli; Mrs. F. M. Furrow, Tucson, Ariz.; Mrs. E. W. Claus, Greeley, Colo., and Mrs. F. L. King, Waterloo; three brothers, August Wilharm, Horton; R. E. Wilharm and Arthur Wilharm, Waterloo; funeral in the Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 p.m. Sunday; burial in Evangelical cemetery north of town.
