Mrs. Lois Grace White Crews, 71, died Saturday morning (May 24, 2008) at Waycross Health & Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.

She was born in Atkinson County to the late Vernie White and Lillian Hansen White. She was a Christian of the Protestant faith. She worked for several years at Standard Container before moving to Waycross in 1977 where she worked for Flash Foods and as a personal housekeeper before suffering a debilitating stroke in 1996. Her faith and personal fortitude allowed her to remain independent and to live at home with minimal assistance until her recent illness.

She was preceded in death by a husband, Thomas White; two sons, Charles Teddy Morgan and Dolan Buddy Morgan; and one daughter, Annette Morgan Philipps.

Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Smith (late husband Lamar) and one son, Stanley Morgan (wife Sandra) both of Waycross; grandchildren, Tonya Revels of Waycross, Donovan Smith (wife Laurie) of Waycross, Shonna Philipps of North Carolina, Justin Morgan of Pearson, Shanlee Spivey of Axson, Tiffany Morgan of Nahunta; step-grandson, James Mixon of Manor; and loving friend and caregiver, Aundie Hernandez of Waycross.

A funeral service will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday (May 27, 2008) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Axson Cemetery in Axson. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
