1899 Obituary: American Fork, Utah
Death of Robert Cunningham (Correspondence Tribune.)
American Fork, Utah, Jan 25 --Last night at 11:20 o'clock Robert Cunningham, brother of the Bishop's counselor, George Cunningham, passed quietly to the rest from which no man returns. He has been ailing for more than a year from cancer of the stomach, but has not been decidedly ill for more than three weeks.
He was born and reared in Scotland in September, 1834. On January 16, 1854, he met and married Miss Ann Wilson of Weillwood, Dunfermline, Scotland, eight years before he emigrated to American Fork, Utah, where he arrived September 10 1862.
Since coming to this place he has proved to be an honest, industrious and economical man, and, plying his trade as a mason and acting as superintendent of different mines, he accumulated considerable property and made many friends.
He leaves his wife and a family of seven children to mourn.
