Mr. J.L. Harper, 73, died on Wednesday at the local hospital after a short illness.

A native of Ware County, he was a son of the late Raymond and Ella Bell Harper ..

He was retired from CSX Railroad as a Machinist with 44 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church, a member of the Frank C. Folks Lodge No-192, the Waycross Shrine Club, the Hasan Temple, the Scottish Rite and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was an emeritus member of Chapter-474, Order of the Eastern Star..

Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Mrs. Frances Harper; a daughter and son:
