Son of Albert & Clara (Galloway) Ahrendts.

Graduated from Oxford High School in 1929; attended the College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, 1934 and 1935
Married: Oct. 29, 1936, to Mildred Rossmiller in Deshler. She preceded him in death.

Lived in Deshler, owned and operated Ahrendts Funeral Home after purchasing it from the Engelbrecht family in 1940; was the treasurer for the Deshler Telephone Co. for 30 years.

After retirement, lived in Kearney.
Activities: member of First United Methodist Church in Kearney and the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association; loved cars, and kept informed about the ongoing events in Nebraska and the country.

Survivors include his daughter, Ann Walker of Kearney; and sister, Ruth Pettygrove of York; also his son-in-law, Marvin Walker of Kearney; daughter-in-law, Karen Ahrendts of Lincoln; and grandchildren and their spouses, Susan Balfany and her husband, Greg, of Kearney, Steve Ahrendts and his wife, Theresa, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Kyle Simodynes of Kearney, Sarah Radcliffe and her husband, Rick, of Apple Valley, Calif., Marc Walker and his wife, Amy, of Shawnee, Kan., and Kim Jaros and her husband, Shayne, of Grand Island.

Was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Robert; his parents; brothers, Harold of Kearney and James of Rifle, Colo.; and sister, Letha Engelbrecht of Savannah, Ga.
