CHARLES BARLOW DIES MONDAY AT HOME ON GROVE
Seriously ill for the past several days, his condition becoming critical last Saturday. Charles C. Barlow of 821 Grove Street passed away at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the family residence.
Mr. Barlow was a pioneer resident of the community, having resided in this community for the past 70 or more years. Charles Barlow was born in Syracuse N.Y. on Aug 12, 1852, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Barlow. When four years of age he accompanied his parents to Illinois, the family locating in this community. For many years the family resided on a farm, knowns as the Barlow homestead, four and one half miles southwest of DeKalb. Mr. Barlow was married to Mary A. Roach on April 4, 1876 and for a number of years they lived on the Barlow farm, moving to DeKalb, eighteen years ago.
In addition to his widow he leaves to mourn his death three sons, Charles A. and Alfred L. of Canada, and Grant E. Barlow of this city, and one sister in Chicago. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Advent Christian church, burial to be in the Oakwood cemetery.
