Graveside services for Mr. C.F. "Sonny" Bass, 94 of Shreveport, LA will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday July 5, 2005 in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor David Daniel of Broadmoor Assembly of God where Mr. Bass was a member. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Sonny was born December 11, 1910 in Oplin, TX and passed away July 2, 2005 in Shreveport. On October 30, 1932 he married Flossie Montgomery. He retired in 1972 with 40 years of service for Skelly Oil Co. After retiring he did consulting work for several years with various oil companies.
Sonny was preceded in death by his wife Flossie Bass, son C. L. "Sam" Bass, grandson Chauncie Edward Bass and sister Teko Gilliam.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Bass and wife Evelyn of Shreveport, Ed Bass and wife Inez of McCook, NE, daughter Geraldine "Gerry" Lambrecht and husband Ray of Shreveport, daughter-in-law Donna Bass of Shreveport, three sisters Ruby Bass of Shreveport, Margie Dorton of Owasso, OK and Geraldine Maloney of Atwater, CA. 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and residents of the South Wing at Westwood Manor for their love and compassion.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
