Mrs. Autie Davis 71, of Wynne, passed away Sunday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Earl Davis; parents, Dalton and Willie Hood; four sisters, Willie Jean Meyers, Frances Cox, Ethel Spencer and Helen Hood; two brothers, Doris Eugene and Troy Lee Hood and one granddaughter, Tabby Tucker.

Mrs. Davis is survived by sons, Bob Davis of Wynne; Barry Davis of San Mateo California and Harold Davis of Wynne; daughters, Brenda Davis and Amy Davis both of Wynne; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Davis was President of Wynne Friends of Animals and was one of the major founders of the shelter. Mrs. Davis had a habit of taking in all the unusual animals such as three deer, a spotted owl, baby squirrels, raccoons, quails and a tree legged cat. Some of the animals Mrs. Davis took care of had to be fed with an eye dropper.

Mrs. Davis enjoyed painting, Ceramics, Bowling and traveling. She enjoyed several years of raising and showing AKC Champion Pekingese. Some of her paintings are displayed in the Arkansas State Museum.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Union Avenue Baptist Church at 10:00 AM, burial will follow in Cogbill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Union Avenue Baptist Church, 6 to 8 PM.
