Son of Thomas J Sheldon (1883-1964) & Gladys Idella Hawkins (1883-1948), Thomas married Lois Elliott Nixon in 1946. They had two sons. A World War II veteran, he enlisted in the army 10 Sep 1943 at Cleveland, OH. He served in the the European, African, & Middle Eastern campaigns. He was captured in Italy in May 1944 & liberated by Jun 1945. At the time of his enlistment, he was an "automobile serviceman." Later he worked as a carpenter and was a county dog warden until he retired in 1987.
