Son of Thomas J Sheldon (1883-1964) & Gladys Idella Hawkins (1883-1948), twin brother of Clair E. Sheldon, 16 year old Claude died in Pittsfield Township after being struck by lightning during a severe thunderstorm while standing under a tree. He was employed as a farm laborer. His death certificate, which lists his father as the informant, indicates that Claude died on Sept. 12th (in conflict with the marker, which reads Sept. 13th) and that his funeral was on Sept. 14th.
