Marvin Mosher came to Brighton from Lake (formerly Geauga) County with his parents in 1844. On 24 Feb 1843 in Lake County, he married Abigail French (per newspaper article, her last name was FINCH), who lived but a few months after their wedding. On 11 Sep 1846, he married, 2nd, Susan or Susanna J. Lamb who lived several years and was the mother of his children -- George, Walter, Hugh Francis "Frank", and Mary Eliza (w/o J. Benjamin Smith). Here, he lived on the Bradley farm, west of the Tract 9 schoolhouse and eventually sold it to Thomas U. Wright [Barzillai Gibson farm in Lorain County, OH]. Then, apparently leaving the county, on 12 Oct 1859, he married Hester Peck, daughter of Charles Peck, Sr. and Polly Martin. He served in the army from 1861 until 1865. At his enlistment and a few years earlier, he lived in Camden, which is where his third wife passed away. Subsequently, he removed to Lucas County, Ohio. Although the "Painesville Telegraph" mentions Perry, Lake County, Ohio as Marvin's last residence, the last nine years of his life were spent at the home of his nephew, Walter Mosher, in Brighton. His sons George and Walter died in the army. Son H.F. Mosher married Mary Melinda Kennell and had three daughters. Daughter Mary Smith also had three children.

Marvin served PVT Co. H 43rd Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry as did his brother Hugh who is buried in this same Cemetery. He served from October 26, 1861 until July 13, 1865. He was a trustee of Swanton Township, Lucas County, Ohio from 1866-1868.
