Fidellia N. Hall was the first of five children born to Selden and Emily A. (Smith) Hall on June 11, 1829, in Brighton, Lorain County, Ohio, and died there on 18 Mar 1918. She married Jason W. Gillett on December 10, 1846, and together they had at least three children: Alice Merilla, Minda Jane and Octavus Monroe.

She was listed as "Phidelia" in the 1860 Federal Census for Brighton, Lorain County, Ohio at 31 living with her husband, Jason, 37, and their children: Annice, 12; Arminda, 8; and Octavus, 7. Jason's occupation was listed as farmer. On the same page of the Census there was Octavus Gillett, 59, and Martha, 55, living with Emery, 20; Clarissa, 29. These may have been Jason's parents and siblings living nearby.

In the 1880 Federal Census for Avon District 164, Lorain County, Ohio, she was 50 and listed as "Pidelia" living with her husband Jason W., 56. His occupation was listed as farmer.

She was found in the 1900 Federal Census for Brighton District 72, Lorain County, Ohio, at 70 living with her husband, Jason, 76, and indicated that they had been married 53 years. Jason's occupation was listed as farmer.

In the Ohio Death Index there was a Mrs. J. Gillett from Lorain County listed as having died on March 8, 1918. Her Death Certificate indicated that she died at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 2 days.
