Judge Slay Funeral At Crystal Springs
As a mark of respect to the late Judy A D Slay, who died Tuesday morning and was interred in the City Cemetery here Wednesday morning Judge Dave M Miller, holding Circuit Court in Hazlehurst, suspended court during the general exercises and with a large membership of the Copiah County Bar Association who had practiced before Judge Slay for years attended the funeral exercises.
The funeral ceremonies were held at the Baptist church by Rev J B Harrington, assisted by Rev Braisser and Reb Williams. The church was banked with beautiful flowers sent from many places in the state. Those in attendance at the funeral from out of town were members of the Copiah County Bar as follows: R N Miller, district attorney; Hugh B Miller, Circuit Judge Miller, H S McNeil, Webster Millspas, all of Hazlehurst; Sheriff henry Ramsey, Circuit Clerk C B Rea, County Superintendent of Education J Q Martin, Deputy Sheriff Jeff Millers and Mrs Miller, Morris Slay and Wife, Oscar Slay, Messrs. Lewellyn and Simpson all of Hazlehurst; Mrs J B Buckles, Mrs H H Coleman, Mrs W D Webb, Mrs S B Flinn, Mrs M G Kethley, Mr and Mrs J M Evans, Mrs M P Coleman and daughter. The honorary pallbearers were composed of the members of the local bar and Judy Slay's large Sunday school class.

Yesterday morning at 10 o'clock Judge Miller recessed court until this afternoon hour, the court and all its attachés going to Crystal Springs to attend the funeral of Judge A D Slay, who died Tuesday and was buried yesterday. Judge Slay was one of the best known justices of the peace in the county and state.
