Mendenhall- Emmett Barwick, 74, of Braxton, died Monday night at the University Hospital after a brief illness.
He had been a resident of Simpson county for 50 years and was a prominent farmer and cattleman. He was a member of the Braxton Baptist Church and was a Mason.
Funeral services will be held......Interment will in the Braxton Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elise T. Barwick; one sister, Mrs. Mary Thames of Collins, one son, James A. Barwick of Braxton; two daughters Miss Anna Bess Barwick and Mrs. Carolyn Grant, both of Jackson; four grandchildren.

Elsie was the daughter of Charles Thigpen and Melissa Wyatt.
Emmett was a planter and merchant in Braxton, MS.
All children linked.
