Samuel Coblentz, born May 2, 1808, was a son of George and Catherine (Hemp) Coblentz. On July 23, 1829 Samuel was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Poffenburger and to this union were born: Susannah Coblentz, Jacob Coblentz, Samuel Coblentz, Jr., Mary Ann Coblentz, Henry M. Coblentz, Sophie Coblentz, Peter Coblentz, Julia Ann Coblentz and Maggie Coblentz.
