"Ignition of propane fumes from a gas tank leak caused an explosion at a restaurant in which an elderly waitress died, Gunnison County Undersheriff Arthur Crawford said Monday. Mrs. Pauline Saya, 62, the victim was the only one in the building when the blast occurred shortly after noon Saturday. She had been employed at the restaurant, called The Steak House, for 13 years. The blast originated beneath the floor, blowing out windows and collapsing the ceiling. Crawford said fumes from the leaking propane tank were ignited by a pilot light on a gas appliance. No visible signs of injury and the cause of death has not been determined pending an autopsy."
