Marvin Laird Naylor was born in Rexburg, Idaho on July 8, 1917 to Frank Sefton Naylor and Rhoda Lois Laird Naylor. He passed away on May 28, 2008. He resided at 1015 East Hillcrest Drive (300 South) in Springville, Utah at the time of his death.


Marv served honorably for two years in World War II for the United States Army. He was always proud of his country.


Marv was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a temple worker in the Provo Temple and also the St. George Temple.


Marv worked road construction his entire life, many years with Strong Construction. After his retirement, the state called him back to be a consultant on the Thistle land slide.


He had three brothers and three sisters; one sister is still living, Verna Coon Cleverly and husband, Don. Marv married Ila Giles of Springville in February 1937. She passed away in 1984. They had one daughter, LaRene N. Peay. LaRene passed away on November 24, 2006. He has four grandchildren, Craig, Robert, JoAnn and Julie. He married Ella Paxton Sheffield. She has seven married children, Gail, Paul, Sherry, Linda, Glenys, Duane and Julie.


Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2008 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville. There will be a viewing held at the Mortuary from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
